Lisa Richerson  – biography

Lisa Richerson, the proud mother of 5 children, 3 dogs, 4 chickens and 4 goldfish, loves painting, hiking and gardening. Having grown up on the Central Coast, it was only natural that Lisa Richerson would return to sunny California after traveling around 20+ years as a military wife.   Her time of travel increased her love of nature  and passion to explore creation.

Lisa  remembers watching her mother paint when she was a little girl and was introduced to oil paints in elementary school. Her first painting was of the Carmel mission. Her second painting was in high school and won a city award. Due to the business of life and frequent moves, she was not able to set up an art studio and devote lengthy hours of painting. Now, wth more time on her hands,  Lisa is usually found playing in the outdoors and painting.

Lisa uses a nontraditional approach to painting. Being a very tactile person,  she loves to feel the paint with her hands. The first half of most of her paintings are created using her fingers. Finishing touches using paint brushes are added at the end.  Most of her paintings have shades of green and blue as those colors are the most moving to her. She tries to convey a bit of mystery, peace or hope in each painting and hopes her expression of light and life will bring her viewers a shared joy.
